Jan/Feb 09 - Anganwadi Vaccinations and Nutrition Update
Presently, Manav Sadhna runs a total of 70 Anganwadis. Nutrition and Vaccination
• A total of 7,112 recipients took advantage of nutrition during the months of January and February. This includes kids 3 to 6 years, pregnant women, breast feeding women, and adolescent girls.
• 853 kids and women were vaccinated during the months of January and February. The vaccinations were of BCG, ori, DTP, Polio, T.T. D.T.
• There were 70 kids found under the grade-3 and grade-4

3 Children from Bholu Schools were admitted to the tution class at Tekra Slum Community Centre. This is great news.
Jan 09- Bholu 4 School - Inauguration
Bholu 4 School in Tekra Slum opened and was inaugurated on January 23rd 2009.
Nov 08 -Bholu School Education Update
Children of Bholu Schools have been progressing well. Now they can add, subtract, divide and reading levels continue to improve.
Nov 08 - Bholu 3 School - Inauguration
Bholu 3 School in Tekra Slum was opened and was inaugurated on November 17th 2009.
Oct 08- Milk Distribrution to Anganwadi Children
Milk Distribution to the ¾ grade kids: Each year, every Anganwadi child under 5 years of age is weighed and measured to monitor their physical development. If any child is found malnourished despite taking regular nutrition in the Anganwadi, we contact their mothers immediately and send them to the nearby health center. Many children in Grades -3 and 4 were malnourished. Municipal Corporation started giving milk to kids. Milk is distributed to each and every Anganwadi daily. MANAV SADHNA OCTOBER -2008 UPDATE
Sept 08 - Meet Nisha from Bholu School
Nisha…...
Nisha, age 12, is studying in Bholu School. She is deaf and mute. She has one brother and two sisters. Her father is an alcoholic and her mother cares for the entire family. Nisha is very smart in household work and loves to paint. At Saturday Special she received a prize for cleanliness. Despite her physical obstacles, she regularly attends class at Bholu school. She can write numbers 1-50 and the alphabet. When her mother says she cannot go to school, she starts crying.
The students of ‘Bholu’ school learned how to add, subtract, and multiply numbers. They have also started writing essays. After one week of preparation, we gave an exam. The results will be announced in October
